Asian Music

So, I was wondering, How do you guys and gals feel about Asian Music?
I typically listen to a lot of it on the Tunein App on the Roku 1.
I like C-Pop (Both Mandopop and Cantopop), Taiwanese Pop, Thai Pop, Filipino Pop, J-Pop, Mongolian Pop, K-Pop, V-Pop, Timorese Pop, and even Kazakh Pop.
I have also heard some Malaysian Pop and Indonesian Pop as well.

I posted this on a similar topic:

I like allot of Japanese music, but I don't know that many band/artist names (or song names for that matter). I associate most of the Japanese music I like with the anime they're used for rather than the artist. That's kinda sad I guess, lol.

I think all those artist I listed are Japanese (maybe one or two are Korean), but I'm really not entirely sure. I don't really go looking for "Asian music". I hear an intro to an anime, and if I like it, I might go download it, and once in a while I'll look more into the band/artist.

I really enjoy listening to K-pop, Exo, Shinee, Super Junior, and Vixx are probably my favorite bands. I find that the lyrics are alot more heartfelt and full of metaphors and I think that's really cool. Also, I like the use of jazzy vibes in the songs and the unique melody lines. (and the dancing is super awesome as well, every music video is like a piece of art)

I also love K-pop, it's practically all I listen to. I also enjoy Aaron Yan who is a Taiwanese artist and some J-rock as well as a few random Chinese songs. My favorite groups are Infinite, B.A.P, BTS, Exo, U-Kiss, Nu'est, and, well, a lot more actually XD I got into dancing thanks to K-pop, so it's kind of really special to me ^^

I'm Asian and find it curious to observe how others appreciate music from this region. Here's my list of 'staples.'

Jpop: L'arc-en-Ciel, Hirai Ken, Maaya Sakamato, Porno Grafitti and random anime theme songs. Yoko Kanno composes a lot of music that I listen to regularly.

Taiwanese: Jay Chou, F.I.R, Wang Lee Hom (Note: Aaron Yan is from the group Farenheit. I haven't heard his solo work yet but I've always thought he has a pretty good vocal)

Kpop: TVQx, Sistar, F(x), U-Kiss. It is simply not good enough to just sing; you have to be awesome in dancing too!

Bollywood Indian music: This industry operates in a different business model so I'd just say I like most music tracks from the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Ramleela. I like Benny Dayal's voice. Yo Yo Honey Singh writes very catchy songs but the content is oh-so-bad. Nevertheless, Bollywood dances are usually excellent in a fun way.

Indonesian: Chriseye, Dewa 19 (it's old school but I like both the lyrics and music compositions)

Filipino: ......this is really very old but Jose Mari Chan writes some pretty heart-wrenching sentimental songs

Yea I never really liked Farenheit's music but I really really enjoy Aaron Yan's music. As far as I know Farenheit broke up but I could be wrong. I got into Aaron through a few Taiwanese dramas he and some of the other Farenheit members were in but his music is all I really got into haha. And of course how could you not dance to those amazing kpop songs? If only I was somewhat good at the whole dancing thing heheh...

And of course Exo is awesome ^^ too bad there are only 9 members left now >.>

I thought Farenheit had officially disbanded after Wu Chun's departure. Tbh, I'm not a loyal fan of Farenheit. I only ended up listening to the first two albums because my landlord's daughter was fangirling over them.

I'm always both amused and awed by how huge some Kpop groups can be (Exo started off with 12, I think) because it does become a challenge to distinguish between members. Even as an Asian, I have to say some Koreans look pretty similar to me. The only song by Exo that I recognize and listen to regularly to is Wolf...."Ahh wooooooo!!!" Hehehe fun song!
