Nice! I've been enjoying the story. I like your choice of colours - an old fashioned feel, kind of somber.

Ohh! Caught in the act! A few things stand out: the contrast of warm browns in the foreground against the cold tones in the room, the light cast on the translucent curtains, and the Eyes.

Love the story so far!

What do you use for the art?

Thanks!

I draw on Strathmore 9 x 12" smooth windpower bristol (it's portable, sturdy and good for the environment), ink using...well, lots of different pens, whatever gets the job done. Sometimes a 3 round brush and calligraphy ink, like I did on this page. And then I scan it and color it in Photoshop 7. :)

Here is the beginning of the first chapter!

And here is the cover page. I delayed posting it because of some input indicating that it might be inappropriate without context. (Warning: sexy guy alert)

As usual, the comic can also be found at my Webcomicsnation site.

New page update!

WARNING: Violence of the stabby slashy red kind. Though I colored it mostly black, but still violence.

I see what you mean about the cover...

I didn't totally get what was happening in the first two pages but that may become clearer with future pages.

A couple of dudes just killed a vampire. See the last chapter of Dracula by Bram Stoker for more details.

Ha, ha - OK! I've never read Dracula so I'm pretty much totally oblivious to references to that book.

It seems most of my readers aren't familiar with the original novel. It's kind of odd. Even if Dracula isn't the most spectacular novel ever written, it's still a staple and holds up well (except for the blood transfusion part...)

Not to worry, I won't be referencing the novel much after this.

I'm definitely familiar with Bram Stoker's original, which is why I was actually a bit surprised when you skipped directly to the end. I suppose if we're moving beyond with that as the base, however, it makes sense.

I was bopping around CAA and spotted this and was at a loss as to why I haven't subscribed to this thread, lol.

I love that you've been able to update so frequently lately, and am looking forward to seeing where you're taking this. (I also ought to re-read Dracula, as the last time I read it was probably about 8 years ago...)

And though it's much belated:
SirThinks2Much wrote:On a random note, who made a link banner of my comic, and why does it look so awesome?

That would be me. I like putting up banners as much for sharing as for keeping track of what I read, and if I can't find one from a site, I immediately set out to find a good piece of art from the comic to make a link with. (heck, I've probably made 6-7 banners on my links page since I couldn't find an official one).

Sorry about the delay, classes are eating my time (I'm drawing the pages for my tech illustration class), I don't have to time to color and on top of that, my tablet died. D:

No more mr. naked vampire!

Two pages.

Also at webcomicsnation.com. if DA doesn't work for you for some reason. You'll have to go back a page in order to get on track.

Also, a bonus parody page! It's not terribly funny I'm afraid.

Somehow I missed the previous update. Good to read more.

I like the immense hall and particularly Mr. V's robe (it looks superb in the panel where he's walking down the stairs).

I like the past few pages. Vlad is my favorite character.

I agree-the robe does look awesome. Keep up the good work. ^_^

Thanks! I love coloring that robe. It makes me all squeeful every time I color it. I love red.

Very sorry for the massive delay, due to school. Now I have two pages already drawn and inked and awaiting coloring.
