CAA: Stand Around Complex

Calling all self-proclaimed mangaka!

Postby Scribs » Fri Jan 13, 2006 1:27 pm

UC, I think that this is my favourite series of updates to date!

"Did you think that would work a second time"
"Yes"
"Well it didn't"

Hilarious

I also liked the picture of people running. That was great, just great.

The random people running was excellent.

Don't you just feel like time is passing or something, though?

1) "I should have been a...", 2) unimportant characters running around and 3) "quit ignoring me already" amused me alright.

XD Love the humor

Thank you kindly. The characters running was inspired by the fact that I'd ripped cutscene graphics but had no real way to use them.

I'll do my best to upload the next update later today, though I can promise nothing about when they'll be on Mave's site.

Yay, I'm all caught up on my Stand Around Complex again! Cinematic-ish, plot-splitting twists are working out really well for story.

Glad to hear you feel that way. Gypsy has also likely read the new update, comics 39-41. This is a fairly average update, in my mind. Near the end of this series there will be fewer funny comics and more action-based ones, but I hope you'll all keep reading.

New update, comics 42-44. This is a pretty good group: it sets up for the last major part of the story, the beginning of 42 is one of my favorite parts of the comic, and as for 44... well, you'll see.

Once again I feel that I need to express how awsome that camel robot thing is.

Nice update

That's a reference to the last page you have up so far, the Dramaticer Pause.

The latter part of my post was a reference to comics 34 and 35 (that is, the staff meeting). It probably isn't a good idea to make jokes that require inflection online, but we seem to keep doing it.

Oh! The tension! The drama! Will the CAA staff defeat their respective opponents? Will the imperiled CAA server be rescued? Will Mith get shooraijin's stuff? The anticipation of it all...

I'm taking a break this week because my schedule has been eaten by various activities. Sorry about this; if I had thought ahead I could have avoided it, but that didn't happen.

This gave me a good chuckle back when I read it. Thanks.

However if you are starved for some Stand around complex action you should check out the latest episode of Ink and Ash Adventures...

Shooby and I rarely fight over the servers any longer. He get's the state-of-the-rat ones and I get the state-of-the-art ones. It works out nicely.

You both are very welcome. I'll live to please (most of the time). Consider this positive reader feedback.

It looks like UC accidentally put up the wrong links. It's just the wrong page numbers. Untill he fixes that, here are the new pages.

I don't understand why Straylight think they are doomed if OldPhil/Mithr is there to protect them. Or maybe I'm just thick today.

That's really my fault since I'm responsible for uploading the pages and updating the html code. I can only fix that in the evening after getting off my daytime job. Sorry about that, I'm in such a bad mood that I keep goofing up.

Don't worry about it. You could always say that you were too excited to remember to change the links... alright, no one else is going to get that.

Scribs wrote:I liked old phils mask. Very nice.

I'm very glad someone noticed that. It affects the joke of the next comic.

Good thinking there]I don't understand why Straylight think they are doomed if OldPhil/Mithr is there to protect them. Or maybe I'm just thick today.[/quote]
Oh, that's just something from the Jokeatmithrandirsexpense school of comedy. It was added pretty randomly, as I had a few panels to fill and I've established the character of oldphil as a random old man. But this is the part where that is shown to be not true, as you will soon see.

It's nice to know I'm not alone in goofing up. In all seriousness, this improved my mood. I apologize for my crankiness.

Links have been amended. I look forward to see what this mask joke is about. You can never go wrong with a JAME (JokeAtMithandir'sExpense <-- it's too long ; it's almost a crime). Plus, I can't spell OldMith's name properly.
