Having another study group

Postby shiroineko » Mon Aug 17, 2009 1:38 pm

Would anyone possibly be interested in rebooting the study group we had going here a while back? I really enjoyed it and miss the discussions on there. We could continue on in the same book (Gospel of Luke) or even look at another in the Bible. If interested, please leave your input or feedback. :)

I'd love to do it again with a different book. Why don't you lead it? BTW, I've started some devotionals on Wings of Morning. You're welcome to read them and sign up with the forum if you like. We'd love to have you.

I would say yes, but me and study groups have never really worked out in the past. Don't really see how an online one would be any different.

If you feel that it's what the Lord wants you to do though then by all means go ahead. I'm sure there are a lot of other people that would find some merit and value in it :-)

God bless

I need it,and seeing that I have a bit of free time every once in a while, and have been reading the Bible more consistently I think that it might be good. It's a good way to keep people motivated or at least to remember them about reading, and studying Scriptures.
So,I'm in.

Hi Shiro. I hope my post didn't deter you from wanting to start a study group. I've been doing some thinking and maybe it would do me, as well as a lot of other people, some good, especially those of us that have, how do you say, trust issues or are a bit shy about sharing personal stuff face to face with others. Please let us know what you have decided :-)

Peace and God speed

Hi again, I apologize for the delay in responding on here.

It was just a thought that crossed my mind and threw out in the open if anyone happened to be interested, it's just something I'd been praying about for a while. I've been seeking God about a study group for years, whether at my church, in my area, etc. We have had a couple of Bible study groups at my church - some were just too clique-y for me and then others just died down (I'm guessing lack of interest, busy schedules, not really sure), so I feel like I've been lacking in fellowship lately.

I could start it up myself, or someone could assist me with it, either way I don't mind. I'm going to pray about it and see where God goes with it.

rocklobster...thank you for the link, that is kind of you. I'll check it out and see what happens. :)

I'd be glad to help if I have the time. You pick the book and I'll go from there.

An online bible study group? I do not think I have seen this done on a message board before. I am curious to see how this would work. :)

In a way, yes, but anime is just one aspect. There is also a music forum and many more review forums.

You know, maybe I should just bite the bullet and join a real life study group. Not to sound condescending, but I believe there's more value to be had in it.
