RD I do plan to enter this contest, even if I have to color with colored pencils!!

Yeah, I did forget to pen-tool the defining line that goes just below her pinky. XD Also, I kind of hid her forefinger, but I think it would look better with the forefinger there. That hand has issues, though. XD

(Wow, Eso, that's incredible! I like hard shading better, to be sure. My "soft shading" came about by jpging the image... which blurred it.)

Eep! *Is late posting here*

Goldenspines: That's so cool! Something about the coloured linework on the black makes it so effective. Really neat idea. Looks great. ^_^

Rii: Wow! That so reminds me of Angelic Layer! ^^ And I love Angelic Layer. Excellent colouring. ^_^ Love it.

Shadowcat: A really excellent version. Love your variation on the colours. The darker shorts, hair and general colour scheme look really good. Great shading and a neat background too. ^_^

Eso: Yeah, I know! Everyone is going so fast! ToT
The added feather is a really cool touch. I love the texture and feel your choice of colours for and with shading has created. Excellent rendition. ^_^

SA: Yay! :jump: An entry from you this month! It's cool to see an entry from you again. ^_^
The paler tones and choice of colours gives a unique, really cool feel to the picture. Somehow she seems even more mysterious. I really like your choice of hair colour too. Maybe that has some influence on the 'mysterious' factor.

Eep! Not sure how mine will turn out. This competition is totally filled with excellent entries! Now I need to figure out how to take a unique approach to my own entry if I end up participating. Which I probably will (end up participating, I mean), as long as no unforeseen projects etc. make a brutal conquest on my time and attention. ;)

I didn't have time to run through and make comments last night, so here goes:

goldenspines - cool take on the project - I like the bright colors you used.

rii namuras - lovely shading job. The color scheme works really well - it fits really well with the upcoming holiday. ^^

ShadowCat - Nice work on the shading. The background colors work really well.

Esoteric - Lovely, lovely job. I really like the texture of the coloring.

And thanks everyone. I had fun coloring this.

Can't wait to see more entries!

Very cool, Midori! I like the soft blue you chose, and the shading looks nice! Also, I like how you made her bracelet shine a little; that's very cool! :D

Yeah the blue scheme was actually a happy accident. I was trying to make a backround when I changed the colour setting to screen, and volia! I love it when things like that happen ^_^

Ooh, cool! The lightburst in the first one makes for a really neat effect, but the way the second one is blurred and softened is really neat, too! I think I like the second one best, though--the charcoal hair and bow looks really neat! :D

I agree with what others have said; quite a change going from the pink to the blue: it looks good. And the shine on the bracelet is a really nice touch. ^_^

Don't worry, Shadowcat; your entry looks great. I like the latter one better too. ^_^
