I've done my first entry during work today. Things have been incredibly slow because its the week before Christmas (I've only had about four calls today!) so I scribbled in a submission.

Hooray for the awesomeness that is pencil with blue, red and black ballpoint pens and the artistic muse that is boredoooom!

Oh, and I'm still loving your entry, Aka-chan. ^^

This character is called Chloe, for no particular reason. As for what she does with snow... she eats it, of course!

I've drawn up a character sheet for her. It was incredibly slow at work today so I grabbed a scrap piece of A4 and started sketching. As the bottom left notes indicate, I used a pencil, eraser, and three colours of ball-point pen. For a random character page drawn at work I'm really happy with how it came out.

See if you can spot the five penguins hidden in this picture that have a habit of shadowing Chloe's every movement and hypothetically stealing my rulers.

--
Description: Chloe was born and raised on a small tropical island in Micronesia. When she travelled abroad for Christmas in 2005 she had her first encounter with the icy white stuff that is known as snow. She ate some. She liked it so much that this year she has travelled to Alaska with the explicit purpose of gathering fresh, clean snow to eat.
--

Being from New Zealand and having a combination of patchy general knowledge and lack of snow experience, I have only found out today from my Mother that eating snow makes you sick. In that case, Chloe has an impenetrable cast-iron stomach that borders on the superhuman. ^^

I hope you can read all the random notes on the page.

Haha, that's awesome! I love her expressions, and the ballpoint work turned out really nice. The random notes and penguins make for even more fun! I had no idea eating snow makes you sick. Even if it's good and clean? But why?

Thanks for all the nice comments, guys!

Aww, thanks Aka-chan! I'm glad you enjoyed all the random notes and penguins. They were fun to draw.

I didn't know that eating snow made you sick either, or why it might do so. I was just told about it today. Perhaps its not true... ^^"

Very cool CA! I love the expressions, and the ninja penguin, yeah!

My understanding on snow is... it will make you sick if, A: It's tainted with something bad or B: You use it as a primary source of water. Essentially, snow is distilled water and extended drinking/eating of it actually robs your body of certain important minerals. That's what I was told anyway.

Ooooooh. That makes sense. And here I thought the idea just originated in an area that got acid rain.

Yes... I definitely wouldn't try to consume the snow in that area.

That might make sense about the minerals etc, Eso. Didn't think of that.

Great work, CA! Heheh; I got to see this in it's original physical form! :jump: *Feels lucky* Looks great, ne? Amazing what she can do with just three different coloured pens, a pencil, an eraser and a ruler. ^^

Okies, finally posting. ;3; It's not as good as the other entries, and I know a couple of you already know Alex. O.O; But yes. Entry now.

Image

Name: Alexander Hawkwood
Age: "-0- Older than you."
Description: Once an apprentice to a renowned wizard, Alex has since gotten in trouble with the law and has been hopping from country to country to avoid any possibility of execution or imprisonment. (It just wouldn't suit him, prisons are so filthy) While his magical talent lies in creating puppets, he also has a knack for manipulating water - that includes snow. :D And with all the snow they get up in the Alps, Alex was not about to miss a chance to show off.
Materials: Ball point pen and Photoshop. D:

Wow, beautiful entry, KD! I absolutely love the picture and the character description is a great one too - the two together give a great feel for the character.

I love the magic effects and the colouring, too. Beautiful!

Not as good as the others? Psht. Whatever. It looks great! Lovely linework, great anime drawing and excellent colouring. Don't put it down; it's a really great drawing. ^^
Cool character, great pic (as already stated, heh) and I like the comment about prisons in his description. X)

No, there's still time!
It closes at the end of December; so I think as long as you get it in before midnight on December 31st you should be fine. Or at least, if you get it done and posted by the 30th you should be safe. ^_^

Well, if you want to I can always provide you with a mallet for the beating. ~_^

All the best with that.

But don't stress about it, okay? Just have fun, Myoti and SA. ^_^

Stress? What's that? *hides bald patch caused by pulling on hair*

^_^

Speaking of bald patches... my cat had a really thick, big hairball which I had to snip off him with a pair of scissors. But since those scissors weren't sharp, I couldn't just cut through the middle of the hairball; it was far too thick. In the end, having had to cut away bits at a time and trying not to get his skin which was really close to the furball, I ended up getting all of the matted hair off.
He now has a rather obvious bald spot near the top of his leg.
