We've finally been moved to our new server, hence the downtime during the past day. I just restored the old database over to the new server, so the forums are working now. Apologies for the site going offline..

Woo! I am certainly glad the server move worked this time. Excellent job, Straylight! And no need to apologize for the site going offline for a little bit; all for a good cause.

Thank you and all the other Mods/Admins for their hard work and devotion to CAA! :thumb:

Straylight, I have some rather interesting and bad (at least for me) news.

See, yesterday when the server went down, it didnt go down for me! It was really weird.. the whole day, I was like the only one online because it was down for everyone else

However, when the servers went back up, it went down for me! Can you beleive it? :dizzy: So now I get an error page whenever I try to get into CAA with firefox (it works fine with IE).

There seems to have been a slight problem with the CAA: Christian Anime Alliance database.
Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

:wow!:

My only hypothosis at this point is that firefox is somehow ignoring some signal CAA is giving it, and going to the old server instead. Could this be possible? Do you think I should try deleting my cookies?

No it's the DNS propogation being slow. You were still being pointed to the old server. The old server had a database error because I deliberately sabotaged the old database to stop people posting on the old server after I'd copied the data over to the new one.

I am glad this is up again. Not too much of a delay, either...

So basically,

I was right: I was being directed to the old server but
But: Its not a firefox problem even though it works on IE :dizzy:

[EDIT:] Actually certain links are broken when I use IE too.. I hope this prolbme gets fixed soon :stressed:
