Uglies trilogy by Scott Westefeld

Has anyone here read those books? Whatya think? I personally enjoyed them a lot, but I'm curious to hear a Christian perspective on the Uglyverse.

It's a YA series about a future world where everyone gets a mandatory operation on their sixteenth birthday turning them into a "pretty".

Sounds a bit like the Twilight Zone episode "Number 12 Looks Just Like You." I am intrigued.

Yeah,I remember that episode as well.There was also another TZ episode where people that were considered 'abnormal' looking had to undergo plastic surgery bit if the surgery failed they were exiled.The twist was that all the 'normal' looking people were ugly.
