Good Linear Algebra sources online?

Postby Slater » Mon Feb 19, 2007 9:39 am

My linear algebra class is killing me. The text books we were issued are nothing but homework problems, with no real examples (the solutions are not provided) and very sparse instruction... it makes a terrible resource.

I'm wondering... does anyone know of any good linear algebra resource sites online?

My online reference for all things math is mathworld.wolfram.com. I can't vouch for it's Linear Algebra section, but it's covered everything else I've searched for. Plus, it has math jokes.

The best book I've ever had on linear algebra is Anton and Rorres's book "Elementry Linear Algebra." In particular, you should look for the Applications Edition.
Look for it here

MathWorld is useful for definitions, but I wouldn't go much further than. You really should just go to your school's library and find better texts than what you've been using. You should also try looking for a copy of Schaum's Outline.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.
