Yaru thought for a moment, "How about we just start walking, and see what happens." He suggested. There was no telling what was out there, and Yaru would rather NOT be the idiot who got eaten by trying to go farther than anyone else.

Miakoda liked this idea, "Sounds good to me. So what kinds of things did you pack?" She looked at his luggage.

"Clothes, a battery, my Allbrush, some canned food and bread, and some canned bread, and a water purifier." Yaru answered, "Not much you wouldn't take to a sleepover or something, really."

Koda raised one eyebrow, "An Allbrush? Those seem rather unhygienic to me... Whatever. You bring plenty of clothes? Maybe some extra?" She pointed towards her pack, "I've got food, water, water purifier, plenty of practical clothing and an extra pair of hiking boots. And everything else."

Yaru pulled his sleeve up to reveal his nano-fiber undersuit, "This is self cleaning, you can soak it in mud for a year and when you take it out it'll still smell like a flower. Regenerates, too." He said, "between the two of us, we should have enough. If our supplies get low, we could always eat the furball."

Miakoda's Cinder Ax was out like lightning, "Or maybe we'll just eat you... Just kidding, but don't lay a finger on Violo. We can always hunt you know. I'm sure it would prove difficult, but not terribly so since he'd be with us."

Yaru pulled the hefty orb out of his pocket, "Maybe this is edible?" He suggested, he honestly had no idea what it did. He sniffed it curiously, but it just smelled like pocket.

Yaru shrugged, putting the sphere back in his pocket. "I dunno, I got it out of your grandfather's cabinet." He said.

She looked at him funny, "You didn't ask what it was? That's silly of you, for all we know that's a grenade..." She laughed, "Oh man, and people think I take risks. Whatever it is, I'm sure it's not edible. Be careful with it."

"Why would I ask? Then he would just tell me and that would spoil the fun of it." Yaru said, "And anyway, if it's a grenade, it should have some kind of trigger, or button, or something to make it explode. So it probably isn't that. Probably."

Yaru thought for a minute on that, "Just get outside and explore. I've been stuck inside that wall for my entire life, going outside of it will really just be... Something good, I think." He looked around, seeing nothing but dirt, "Are we almost to the end of the tunnel?"

"Well we past the wall a while back and the path is almost straight again, so yeah we are." She grinned, "Ready to have some fun? I know I am!"

"I would love to have some fun, but we have to bring the cat." Yaru said, starting enthusiastically with his voice then taking a dramatic drop.

Koda rolled her eyes, "Don't worry, lover-boy, Violo won't get to close to you with that pine spray. He doesn't hat it as much as the beasties, but he sure doesn't like it... Or you...."

"Well, he can rest assured the feeling's mutual." Yaru said, making a mental note to double his usage of pine spray. And to spray Violo when Miakoda wasn't looking.

The door was finally in front of them. Koda unlocked it. "After you."

Yaru decided it best not to argue, and instead managed to somehow squeeze himself and his bag past Miakoda through the small tunnel. And then he was outside. That old saying that had come from Old Earth, 'the grass is greener on the other side', was proving to be quite true, on this side of the wall everything seemed more vivid, more alive. He moved away from the door so Miakoda could get through. "So, which way are we going?" He asked.

As soon as he spoke, Violo was there. And on Yaru. Then was off again like lightning.
"Oh man, I can't believe you fell for that one," Miakoda laughed. "As for which direction, wanna flip this old coin?"
She pulled out an old Earth coin from her pocket.

Yaru staggered a bit as the cat jumped on him and was gone just as quickly. He looked at the Old Earth coin, it wasn't the first he had seen, but he was a little surprised to find Miakoda in possession of one. Then he reminded himself it was Miakoda and he shouldn't be surprised of anything she did or had. "Sure. And hand me that can of pine spray, too." He said.

Yaru took the pine spray and promptly shot it at Violo, then sprayed it over himself. "Heads." He said.

"Hey! I saw that! Poor Violo, he's not gonna be able to hunt for us if you keep that up, crazy. So is heads left or right?" She cocked her head to one side.

Violo sat at her side, face still contorted from the pine spray, mimicking her.

"Don't care, it was worth it." Yaru said, putting the pine spray in one of his pockets. "I dunno, flip a coin to decide. Head means heads is left, tails heads is right."

Miakoda laughed, "That sentence got away from you didn't it? I've got an idea, we do two tosses. The first like you said. The second will be between whatever it lands on the first time, and straight ahead." She flipped the coin and it landed on....

The coin flipped through the air, fell, and as Miakoda missed it, it landed in a small patch of mud, completely straight up.
Yaru stared for a second, then looked to Miakoda, "So, straight ahead." He said.

Koda laughed, "Well that saves us the second flip. Lets be on our way." She picked up the coin, cleaned it off with a leaf, and stuck it back in her pocket. Violo steered clear of Yaru, but walked right alongside Miakoda. She stroked his head.
"When we get a little further, I'm going to use that spray," she said.

"I'm finding that it works wonders already." Yaru said, taking the can and tossing it to Miakoda, he guessed he had used enough on himself to ward the cat away. "What should we do if someone from the Colony sees us?" He asked. That would be troublesome, as they would likely personally take them back and report them, leading to all sorts of complications and punishments to befall them. Or, Yaru, at least.

"Well, if we stay away from the paths that shouldn't really be a problem. People are too scared to wander much. But if they do see us, as long as we don't know them just act like we're on our first trip out and eighteen. If they know you, then well..... There wouldn't be much we could do," she shrugged. "But like I said that shouldn't be a problem."

Violo had moved to the trees again, pouncing around above them. He pounced on a branch with fruit and it fell and hit Yaru's head.
