A Warm Welcome To Myself.

Postby JesusJedi » Wed May 29, 2013 10:34 am

I would like to take a moment to warmly welcome myself to the Christian Anime Alliance and all of it's wonderful people. If you don't know who I am that would be a good thing, it would mean that I haven't been stalked. Hahaha.

On a more serious [death] note, my name is Simeon. My username is JesusJedi after the main character of a short set of like 30 clips me and a bunch of friends made while on a short term missions trip to Haiti last year. I go to a non-denominational church in Pennsylvania called Covenant Fellowship Church and have been (consciously) saved since September 12, 2010. I am now a 17 year old striving to live for Christ, and by doing so trying to be watchful in what I do and watch. Which is where the CAA comes along!

I enjoy anime, a lot. I wanted to find a way to make sure what I was about to watch would not be tempting to me before watching it and being subject to the temptation. Being someone who has overcome a porn addiction, I need to be very tentative in the things i surround myself to because even though I have overcome it, it still tries to grab back. There are times I will fall, but I do not lose heart. For Christ overcame the world, and he lives now in me, so I too can overcome the world. So having found the CAA, I was delighted to be able to have screened reviews of all the different anime I would like to watch, before I watch them! Thank you all very much for all you do!

I hope I can grow friendships with you guys as we enjoy anime in a God glorifying way! WELCOME TO ME!! :XD:

P.S. Sorry for kinda spilling my soul ahaha. :hits_self

Hello there sir! If avoiding temptation is your goal, then I can sure list a whole bunch of anime you shouldn't watch. I'm in a different but similar boat, I'm glad to hear that you've "overcome it" somehow and hope that trend continues and that you remember to take each day at a time, as the devil can and will strike at inopportune times, and speaking from personal experience it can be easy to fall into other traps when you think you have lust whooped. You certainly won't find much support to fight back against that kind of problem in the world, but we know better than them! I wanted to say some more but gotta go like right this second.

nooooo, that's too hard! Hahaha. Alright. I would say my top 3 would be (no particular order) Death Note (had an unsatisfying ending imo though), Nabari No Ou, and Angel Beats. There are many many many others worth mentioning (Such as Howl's Moving Castle or Princess Mononoke).

I think "overcome" was a strong word. Maybe consistently resisted it. But thanks! I'd love to hear some of those anime that I shouldn't watch. Would save me some time haha. And i'd love to talk some more sometime! ^.^

Welcome to CAA! I really hope to chat with you and see you around the forum. :D Your username is so awesome!
"I believe...I want to live my life, carrying my memories with me. Even if those memories are painful, even if those memories do nothing but hurt me...Even those memories I wish I could forget...As long as I keep carrying them with me and don't run away from them. Someday...Someday, I believe I will get to the point where I'm not oppressed by those memories. That's what I want to believe. I'd like to think that there's not a single memory that I have which would be okay to forget." -Momiji Sohma - Fruits Basket

Welcome JesusJedi, I hope you enjoy your stay. Considering the second part of your username, is it safe to assume you are a fellow Star Wars fan? If you are, which of the original trilogy is your favorite?

Personally, I'd say it would be A New Hope. Growing up my favorite was A New Hope cause of the fact that a kid my age totally destroys the best racers in a race. (I also like The Clone Wars growing up cause who doesn't love tons of Jedi in a giant epic battle with massive amounts of droids. Hahaha). But it was altogether an amazing movie!

Just like most things in life, aside from faith, it's not entirely black and white but more gray. I love it on Burritos, Tacos, Enchiladas, etc. But im not a big fan of it on baked potatoes. Every once in a while i'll put it on my baked potato, but not that often. :P

Acceptable answer. Please stick to the row on the left, and don't trip over the door-frame.

And because no one has asked yet, do you have any hobbies aside from anime and manga?

Yessir.
And I also enjoy sports (soccer mostly), reading books other than manga, a little bit of blogging, and when I get the time (which is rarely), Starcraft 2. :P

Well, since you've already welcomed yourself, I don't suppose you need me. *shuffles away dejectedly*
Anyway, hello! Jedi are usually welcome here, unless they have a hidden desire to take over the world and throw the universe into utter chaos. In that case, leave. We will protect the padawans at all cost! On a somewhat related note, have you read any of the Star Wars books?
Well, good luck, I hope you survive the labyrinth that is CAA. Just don't make too many left turns or you'll find yourself back at the beginning. And if a wall is fuzzy in the upper left corner, it's actually a hologram, so you can walk right through it. Just make sure you've made all the necessary preparations, because it's always a room with a nigh undefeatable boss. Your best defense is to put up a huge wall of text (they hate that). Puns are also good for long-range attacks. But be really, really careful about engaging in debates-to-the-death. If you do survive, you most assuredly won't come out unscathed.
Anyways, I've said my piece, and I shall now sink into the shadows. I hope you're prepared for what you've gotten yourself into...
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? -Micah 6:8 KJV
They have shewed thee, O teen, what is good; and what doth the world require of thee, but to fit in, be wealthy, have good looks, and be rebellious? -Peer Pressure 1:1
"I hate milk; it's like drinking vomit." -Edward Elric and me. :fmed:

Greetings from the Neighborhood Wolf! o.o/

As someone who is currently in recovery from porn addiction (and a woman, no less) it is always heartwarming to hear of those who have overcome and strive daily to live for Jesus in purity. It is my hope to rejoin that group, and every day I work towards that goal. :3

Thanks! It's not an easy walk, "But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me." (2 Cor 12:9)
