Hello there!

Postby Keri » Wed May 22, 2013 8:35 pm

My name is Claudia. :) I'm fourteen years old, home-schooled, and taking lessons in Sewing and Japanese. I live in Auckland, New Zealand. I'm an anime fan from way back, growing up with child aimed shows and then finding out at around twelve all that anime has to offer. And now, long story short, here I am.
I'm also a baptized christian, so when I heard of this site I was honestly thrilled. There can be a lot of controversy among christians about whether anime is 'evil' or 'possessive' or whatever terms that seem to get thrown around when the discussion arises. It's good to know not everybody believes that - after all, anime is just another medium of entertainment.
Anyhow I don't want to dive too deeply into that. My favorite shows are Wolf's Rain, Haibane Renmei, Baccano, Kino's Journey, Serial Experiments Lain, Wolf Children (well that's a movie, but me and my mum loved it), Kara no Kyoukai, Mushishi... and practically any anime series I get my hands on. My collection is growing at the painful sacrifice of my money. And my favorite genre(s) would have to be thriller/anything confusing and/or dark/and anything that can make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. ^^
Actually scrap that. I watch any show of any genre. It doesn't matter what. xD
I also read manga, and my undisputed favorite of all time still goes to Fruits Basket (loved it as a kid, still love it now.)

Well before I babble on I'll leave it at that. :) It's a pleasure to meet you all! What are you guys watching at the moment? I'm checking out Mirai Nikki and trying to keep up with all the airing shows at the moment. :brow: Thanks for reading! And I can't wait to get to know you all.

Hi. :D I'm having a great day, thank you. And you?
Sword Art Online was great! I hope they release it for home video soon. :) Is Accel World better? I've heard it's set in the same universe as SAO.

Hi, Syphon. Thanks. :)
Code Geass sounds awesome. :P

As CAA's resident military geek specialist and drill sergeant, I welcome you. Apparently it's a custom to interrogate ask newcomers questions, so...

1. For whatever reason, you get thrown into the Air Force. What plane do you fly into battle?

2. Sour Cream. Yay or nay?

3. Favourite Japanese snack?

Interesting, interesting, despite how personal these questions may be I shall answer.

1 - I would never fly planes. It's helicopters or jet packs, or the Air Force has lost my service. That's how all the hipsters roll.

2 - Yay, indeed!

3 - As generic and common as this answer may be, pocky. Who doesn't love it?

Accel World is a great anime. It does take place in the same universe as SAO. It's actually after everything that happens in SAO. Supposedly, there is supposed to be two other series coming out soon that are also in the same universe as SAO and Accel World. I'm looking forward to both when/if they do come out. ^^

And yes I had a great day. It's coming to an end right now and the next day shall be even better then the last. ^^

@ Syphon - I've recently brought the series. I'll have to make time to watch it soon. :D

@ Derek Is Me - That sounds interesting. I wonder if the rumored new anime is Log Horizon. That has a very similar premise to Sword Art Online, but who knows. It would be interesting to see it when/if it does. :) And that's good. Then have a wonderful day tomorrow too!

@ Sarah - Oh my gosh, awesome! :D How's your home-schooling coming along? Fruits Basket was the anime show that made me really get into anime too. ;A; it's wonderful.

Actually, I took a month off because my family and I are going across country from NY to San Diego. It's been an awesome trip so far! We've seen the Grand Canyon, The Petrified Forest, The Creation Museum and Las Vegas! :D

Welcome! Long live the homeschoolers!!
I'm watching Cowboy Bebop right now, at the command recommendation of an acquaintance of mine.
Here at CAA, nothing crazy ever happens, except for the occasion explosion, kidnappings, world domination endeavours, the usual. Don't make eye contact with anyone you haven't known to for at least 3 minutes, and never, ever, accept food from anyone whose name begins with a U. We recommend that you learn at least one martial art, for your own safety, and read at least one classic before your 28th birthday. All in all, welcome, and don't trust the smilies. You never know what they're thinking...
Nice to meet you, and I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Quick! State a random fact about yourself!

@ Lastlan - I've heard of .hack, though I've never taken the time to watch it. Apparently it isn't very good, though that's just what the critics say. Has anyone here seen it?

@ Sarah - Oh my gosh, awesome! o: That must be an amazing experience (especially getting a whole month's off.) Where are you off to next? :3 God creates such beautiful places and landmarks. <3

@ MulletDeath - Aye. We wear grass skirts and cook our food in the earth - and internet is limited to a very dated form of dial up. Nice to meet you too, foreigner from a strange land. ^.^

@ Claeric - I don't think I'll ever be looking at this site or smilies the same way again. o-o

@ Panda - Thank you~ -pandahugsbackpunintended- And yes, I read manga. :) What kind of manga do you read?

@ Nate - Yes, I agree. :-)
