Howdy! I've played guitar for over 25 years and I have a red Takamine cutaway and an old Ovation, from around the time I started playing. The Washburns always seemed so big to me. Have you ever heard of Randy Stonehill? I used to go see him in concert at Biola University in La Mirada, CA, when I was a music major there. Is he considered a good guitarist to you guys? I always *music nerd* thought he was great.

Welcome to CAA!

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

I've heard of him but i've never heard him. He a praise and worship type guy right? Another christian guitarist as much as i hate to admit is good is Steven Curtis Chapman (overall good stuff, intricate licks, exceptional chording)
So your more of an acoustic person, huh? I have an old (but excellent looking and sounding) Yamaha steel string but it's a friend of mine's. :( do you play amped or truly 'unplugged'?

I don't know why you hate to admit Stephen Curtis Chapman is a good guitarist. He was given an award in the "secular world" regarding his prolific songwriting career and has received applause by Guitar mag. or something like that - I'd have to dig up records - as a great guitarist. I think he's been a respectable and honorable Christian in the public forum. He's appeared a couple of times in the local morning shows here in D/FW TX area, and has always come off very gracious and kind.

There are great guitarists all over the place.

I play both "amped" and "unplugged." I even play congos and percussion. I've written piano pieces, but that's not my primary instrument.

because he's dominated the Dove awards. He's won 40 or so now and to think some could win that many means he's kinda favored in Christian music industry. I wish someone else would get consideration
