I'm pretty excited for this, actually. While it may end up being one of those superhero movies that's all fan candy rather than actual story. But hey, still good.
And, explosions. Many explosions.

One of the directors/writers stated that the story is about them starting out as rivals until eventually friends. So there's some deep storytelling that can be told.

I actually think there is so much potential for intriguing cultural exploration. Captain America represents the old America of the war era: the nostalgic America of integrity, selflessness, sacrifice, morality, and patriotism. Iron Man, on the other hand, represents modern America: the progressive America of self-gratification, hurtling technological advancement, pragmatism, patriotism, and semi-morality. I think the contrast between the hero of yesterday and the hero of today could be a fascinating character study and cultural commentary, if done properly.

Or explosions. That works too.

Very excited! I'm totally on an Avengers high right now, having recently rented Thor (better than I thought it'd be) and Captain America (my favorite as a kid - and I was not let down).

This looks like a good one, of course I still have a few of the preceding films to rent, but I'm looking forward to this.
