Has anyone seen One Hour Photo? This is the best movie of 2002. Though it has 2 nudity scenes (Not really gratutious), it's still a pretty good movie. It's about Sy Parrish (Robin Williams), this guy who works at this One Hour Photo place. He's really lonely and is obsessed with this family that he thinks has the perfect life. But then he finds out that it isn't as perfect as he thinks, and he slowly becomes insane. It's quite interesting.

Haven't checked it out yet. I heard that Robbin William's character actually resembles him in real life in a way, being manic depressent and all. Saw the movie on the shelf in Blockbuster one day, glanced at it, thought "interesting", and moved on.

I saw it and it was very good (rather ... disturbing how well Robin Williams can play strange folks; he was a good sicko in Insomnia as well).

What really impressed me about the movie was the use of colour and costume, particularly Sy's white and blue motif. It also captured very well Sy's life and how, without giving away too much of the plot, he attempted to insinuate himself into a social world he himself had never been a part of. His scene at the end with "may I have my photographs?" was a strange, ethereal conclusion (especially since the photographs weren't of what you thought they were).

To people sensitive to such things, the R is largely language, except for some nudity in the photographs he develops, and a scene at the end with some violence and adult situations, so I'm not making a wide recommendation for everyone to see it. Still, it was well done.

I saw it a while ago. I had heard it was a really good movie. I agree with most of Shooraijin's comments. However, the hotel scene was sick and gratuitous. I literally felt sick inside watching and regretted renting it. Great twist at the end, but it deserved the "R" rating strongly for the hotel scene.

Meh, I don't think it was. All because they have nudity/sex doesn't necessarily mean it's gratutious. I think someone like Sy WOULD have done that under the same circumstances, so it wasn't necessarily gratutious. It's gratutious when it doesn't have anything to do with the plot, just slapped in there because sex is cool nowadays (Matrix Reloaded, anyone?).

Yeah, good to see some anime references in Western movies.
