Dark World Project *Updates*

Hi,
I'm kinda nervous about sharing this since it's in the early stage. This past summer I came up with a small idea about a romance between two characters, and soon it became an entire story. I decided to make it into a comic, but once I did the realistic concept art for the main character I realised how hard that would be to do it consistantly. Then I did a small sketch of yugioh just to see if I could draw in that style and so out of that came the main character Kara. So you guessed it I decided to do all the characters in manga style(a style I'm still learning) since then I've been doing concept art for each character, typing the story, and doing panels all at the same time! Of course it's taking me forever and I'm not getting as far into the story as I would like to. So you can check out my Dark World site tell me what you think so far and if God puts it in your heart to help, I would be most greatful. This is a story I really love and want to tell! I hope to make it for not only the saved manga fans, but for everybody. It's time to use this new tool for ministry!
God Bless,
Souba

Hi,
Well I've updated the website, with a new panel, and some more scans of kara, silver, and I've added Amyth. Slowly but surely it's coming along, so please keep checking the site for updates. Again if you want to help, I need someone who can do panels, and give me ideas/opinions on the story itself. Btw, you can read the prologue of DarkWorld Here .

Well I got at couple of scans featuring the work I've done so far. These two are more test panels, but it is basically along the lines of how I want the manga to look, now I just got a few hundered more pages to go. :hits_self

Definitely. ^__^ I have one comment I forgot to mention early. Is there any way of you making the outlines more clear or bold? They seem a bit blur at the moment...I'm not sure why. Did you intend it that way....you know, something like a flashback?

Keep it up, Souba! You'll do great if you keep pressing on! XD XD

Hey Guys,
I'm proud to present the cover of DW! I spent about a week working on it, and this is my second time using psp to paint in the drawings. Yeah, I still need to work on it, but so far so good. Enjoy!

XD Very nice cover, I like your coloring. I'm wondering, how did you make the outlines since they're somewhat blur. If you could make lines more clear and solid (inking?), it'll complement your coloring skill better, IMO ^__^ Keep up the great job!

Argh, You are talking about my bane! Well I when I ink my problem is I ink too light and the lines are not perfectly draw, which is reflected when I scan and use psp. So I'm gonna try just scanning then using paint to draw lines and color it in. *sigh* It would help too if I hadn't been sick for almost three weeks now, darn allergies! Like I said this is my second try and I will keep working on my psp skills. :D One day I shall not blur! :P

That's strange. Inks rarely end up being that light for me (it happens to pencil sketches though). The only explanation I can think of at the moment is that the art is being scanned at a pretty high brightness level.

I hope to get my grubby paws on PaintShop Pro (assuming that's what you mean by PSP) soon and see whether I can use it as effectively as I do now with Photoshop. ^_^

OT: Sorry to hear about allergies but isn't it a bit early for the season?

Wow, not bad at all!

Random comments:
1) I couldn't read the title properly since there seems to be some amount of overlapping between the words
2) I'm starting to wonder whether you use layers in your screentoning. Do you?

Hi,
Thankx!

Random Remarks:

Well I'm still playing with the title so I tried layering it. As usual this isn't the final product I'm continually updating these pages as I come up with more ideas.

I just recently tried using layers to color in the images instead of the insanely tedious way I was doing it before. :) Btw you can see the How To at PSP Channel

And guys/gals please remember to say a little prayer for me every once and a while, sometimes I feel so overwhelmed doing this alone, so it can really be a big help.
God Bless,
Souba
