Shonen Jump, those were the days

I remember being over the moon when Shonen Jump first got published in North America... I bought every issue, then after awhile I realized their little plan. They kept introducing new series, running them for a while, and then when people were hooked they'd send them off to buy the books and start another series :(

Does anyone still read it? Or even the Japanese version? I miss the good old days when the month was measured based on how long until the comic store got the next issue in...

I don't read it anymore, but I do have the first 2 or 3 years worth of the magazine.

I have about 3 years worth in shonen jump in a box somewhere. I did the year long subscription and loved every issue. Even got the Oblisk the Tormentor yu-gi-oh card in an issue. My mom would use the issues to make me do my chorse with her "You can read it when the kitchens done" and what have you :P That's when I really got into anime and manga for the first time.

Broly did the smart thing... I actually hunted all mine down from shops. I remember trying to find the #1 issue for a few months before I came across it.

I subscribed to US Shonen Jump until it shifted to mostly titles I wasn't interested in. I pay some attention to the Japanese version since it determines when chapters of several series come out.

I used to read Shonen Jump at the library, though it was only for the new Naruto. As my interest in the Naruto manga died, I stopped reading.

You're kidding me, right? They actually published that in the U.S.? How awesome! I'm totally going to get that from the library!

I had about two years worth of them for a long time. I hadn't read it in a long time when I learned they're no longer in print.
