After not being able to find this manga for nearly 2 years, I stumbled across a few volumes in a couple used book stores. I immediately bought everything they had, volumes 1, 2 and 5. I've just finished rereading the first two columes, and I can already see why I loved the series so much. Hayato's definately my favorite character so far, and if memory serves me right, I believe he will be as far as I read in the past too.

Does anyone know how many volumes there are in this series total and if it was ever finished?

umm...according to ANN:
the manga is complete (series ended in 2002)
the series is 22 volumes total (in Japan) and there are 15 volumes out (in the U.S.)

15 so far. It's still being released (ever so slowly). Almost as slow as Battle Angel Alita: Last Order (those Viz turkeys...)

jon_jinn's correct. It ran for 22 volumes in Shonen Sunday, I believe. It was also adapted into an anime a few years back.

No, none at all. ALthough I do want to go look for the WA anime sometime, I played WA3 once and really enjoyed it. But agian, they're completely different things altogether.

I didn't find WA: TV that appealing. It was a decent anime, but every single one of the games would have made a much better anime.

Hm...that stinks. Maybe I'll just stick to the games then.
