That's good to hear. ZiP... we authors have some questions for you...

Kindly respond via PM. There may be other questions that do not come to mind immediately.

1) Do the aliens have a name? (my memory seems to recall something)
2) What is Nanny's purpose anyway?
3) Did you have any ideas for the final plot?

Looking back, I assume no ones really been assigned to anything.
If no one has any objections, I'll jump back in and get this back and running.

Alrighty,
I think what we should do right now is everyone work on the SAME character
as everyone else, that way we can figure it out faster.
So I think we will start with the first character on the list:

"Name: Lyric, Nikki
Gender: Female, white
Age: 22
Job: Pilot
Hair color: blond
Eye color: brown

Height: 5.2
Background: She just recently got out of college, and this is her first job.
She is the best pilot that the Clarity will ever see.
She’s pretty, sweet, has a great fashion sense, She’s really pretty, and doesn’t question orders... most orders."

just draw her as best you can and we'll find the right one.

Yeah, sure, just keep drawing more and more designs of what you think she looks like,
we wont decide if everyone only draws one each, it wont do much good.

How long will we work on these character designs before beginning the actual manga? Lochaber Axe and I have begun story design, but I'd like to have something of a time frame.

I would have it all up by now, but people aren't drawing and posting stuff, so that slows it down aloooooott.

I wouldn't suggest that we spend too much time with characters. Either post specific details or just take someting. Drawing takes a fair amount of time.

THe final character designs, but as it is, your the only person actually submitting drawings, so it's going slowly.

Allow me to give you something for a comparison. In five minutes I could roughly plot out perhaps forty pages. I could create a final version of one page in roughly two minutes. Drawing, especially the final version, does take more time than the other aspects of making a manga.

Question, ZiP: have any of the drawings in the past been accepted as final or at least acceptable?

Let me know if any of you know any artists (particularly mecha, and background artists).

When we do the actual manga, who will do what? I'd think we'd want the art style for the series or at least one issue to remain basically constant. While we need all manner of assistance artists, who would do the majority of the work?

I met one artist who made his own manga, and did it nicely, so i may ask him to create a majority of the captions, I also need to find texters, people who can put text into little boxes...

BTW the manga is going to have to be inked only, no color. at least, not yet.

No, I was serious. By "slow" I just mean "slower than my working pace." But it's cool.

Meanwhile, the artist at ZiP's site looks good... if they want to help. I have another question for you, too:

I've read over the sixteen pages of this discussion, and what strikes me is that we have quite a bit already accomplished. This could be closer to completion than we think it is. If I may make a conjecture, I would say that artists get a bit tired on a project if they have to draw so many different pictures. We already have well over a score here...

[quote="KrescentMoon"]EDIT: why hasn't anyone said anything (besides vampi) about the sketches~? ..........goodness, i've become a forum thread killer lately ]

The clothing in the first struck me as fine, and I really liked the second.

That's something later in the series, we'll discuss that bridge when we come to it

And it isn't my website, it that guys.

I referred to it as "ZiP's website" merely because it was your link; I knew who had actually created it.

Actually, I'd request that you PM me with the information. As an author I think it's pretty important that I have a map of all the bridges we need to cross. Lochaber and I have been planning things that will affect Nanny, so it's somewhat important that we know anything about her.
