They're for another manga that hasn't been drawn yet. Both are some type of vampire.

Anyway, here's another doodle. There are so many mistakes, it's not even funny, but I'm trying to learn how to do dynamic angles. -_- I hope Elric_kun doesn't get annoyed at my poor craftsmanship. (Sorry, I often feel the need to apologize for my work; my friends call it Piro Syndrome, for those of you who read MegaTokyo.)

Wonderful picture! I love his pose, and he perspective is awesome. I also love the way you do clothing lines and the shading is beautiful. Also, I'm MAD jealous of you skills with drawing hands. Hands are the band of my existence. Great job!

^__^ Thanks. Hands have been the focal point of most of my practicing for quite a while; I've studied them, studied other renditions of them, held mine up to the light to get a hang of the shape, drawn them, drawn them, and drawn them. I still haven't perfected them (especially with the trickier angles), but I'm glad the practice is showing. They are very hard.

I have decided to resurrect this thread because I have no idea which section of the gallery my J-rock doodles would go into (they're not really fanart, because they're of real people, but my style's to anime to go in non-anime art, etc.) and I don't want to flood the J-rock pic thread with my humble offerings. -_- I figure I’ll just dump ‘em here and you can check ‘em out if you want. Sooo…the pseudo-Miyavi I put in the J-rock pic thread and…wow…another pseudo-Miyavi! XD

O.O Miyavi!!! *dies*

Edit: Why don't you make a new thread for this? I just saw this right now because I went to your user profile to PM you.. ^^

XD I don’t really like either drawing, but I didn’t have a reference photo on hand for either, so I guess I’m kinda excused. I will work harder to capture the essence of Miyavi!! *strikes a dramatic pose as waves crash*

Edit: See above as to why I didn't start a new thread. ^__^

Mave wrote:Pencil sketching and shading, I assume?

Yep, .5 HB mechanical pencil in a line-less Mead notebook during a piano rehearsal and math class. *nodnod* Good fun, but my art teacher would probably be appalled if she knew.

I would like to, actually. He is most certainly quite the bishie. Hopefully someday... ^__^ (Miyavi's easier right now, though; his slender somewhat-effeminate face shape is closer to my anime style and I'm out of practice when it comes to realistic.)

I'm quite aware that he does not look like Hyde; I'm slowly working my way to capturing the image. But, the super-hyper-ninja-mod-who-possesses-great-power-and-wisdom bade me draw him, so I will learn. ;)

Are you drawing these guys completely without reference pics? 0.o;;;; Coz there's no way I can pull that off unless I've drawn that specific person many many times.

Thanks for the comments, all of you! *cookies and glomps*

I've used some reference when I'm working on Hyde because he so different from what I usually draw, but that doesn't always help much because I try not to reproduce exactly what I see. I'll use the picture to check the nose or eye shape, curve of the cheekbones, etc. but I will not draw the picture I'm looking at. I think its a spillover from my anime fanart where I wanted to manipulate the characters to do exactly what I wanted.

Miyavi, however...no ref pics at all, though there's one sketch I haven't posted yet that I had to look up the exact placement of some of his oh-so-egotistical tattooes to get them right.
