One year, my mom made some biscuits. They were some pretty good biscuits. My favorite food used to be the cranberry sauce.

I'm with you there. :thumb: Sweet potatoes are DISGUSTING. Sweet potato anything is so gross to me. Dx Blech! They are one of those foods that I try every so often, and still have yet to find it in me to like them.

I was also the child who didn't like pumpkin pie. (Remember, I've grown up with birthday cake on Thanksgiving practically all my life]yes[/I]. :D

YES. I buy those when I can and bake them in the oven. :D

I agree that dirty rice is amazing --my grandma was from New Orleans and would make that for us fairly often. I haven't had it in a long time, though.

What I never quite got was the cranberry sauce that comes in a can --I mean, it tastes okay, but the fact that it comes out in the shape of the can makes it less appetizing to me (and the taste is kind of weird to me). I'd love to make/try some fresh cranberry sauce, though --I saw a lot of cranberries on sale at the store yesterday...

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potato casserole, corn, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and some sweat tea make a fine Thanksgiving meal for me.

Happy thanksgiving to all those who have thanksgiving. (I'm Canadian, hehe :P)

P.S.
I like sweet potatoes and yams. Not with marshmallows or anything..... (that's a bit weird to me, I guess it's an American thing?) But as fries or chips. With a curry dip. :D

I had a day with the apartment to myself as my roommates went to their family Thanksgiving (I *think* my family is getting together on Saturday.)

Today, I made a baked pollack filet on a bed of pasta with sauce served with vegetables.

Made gluten free vanilla wafers that came out very oddly shaped, but tasty (and ate dough as I cleaned up). :)

Dinner was black bean and chicken corn tacos (corn tortillas) and baked french fries.

Edited to add: Dipping those vanilla wafers in dutch hot chocolate was a genius idea! SO GOOD! :D

I ate turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, veggies, and all that yummy stuff. I'm full :).
"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." I had my thanksgiving dinner about a month earlier, and with Chicken instead of Turkey (It's impossible to get turkey in Korea, and I doubt you can really find it in Japan either. That, and not many people in either country have full sized ovens)

It was great. Gravy, stuffing, the aforementioned chicken. Tasty.
