Look at the very top of the page. You should see buttons that look like this:

The chat is up there. XD

I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem, but... I don't seem to have an edit button o.o; It's not there where it used to be o.o Is this just me or is anyone else not seeing it o.o?

OP stands for opening post or something like that.. right o.o? I see it now, but then when I look at other post I have made in the near past. It's not there to the left of the "quote" button o.o

*Is not tech savvy (or whatever that term is* O.O

OP = Opening Post, yes. What Mithrandir meant was that he gave an answer to your question in the first post. Here it is:
Mithrandir wrote:Why can't I edit my posts?

For archival reasons, posts made more than 2 days ago cannot be edited (this limit has recently been increased from 1 day).

Isok. :thumb: You don't have to feel dumb. We'll settle for embarrassed and dejected, bordering on depression. >.>

<.<

WHAT?!?

*whispers*

Apparently we don't require anything at all.

*shakes head*

What is the internets coming to, anyway...?

I work in technology for an educational institution. My whole career is built around proving problems are process related, not people related. ;)

I know this is off topic of this thread, but how did you and UC come upon Caa if you guys don't mind me asking ^ ^

I suppose that's a question, so there are worse places for it. However, my response is a pretty dull one: I ran across CAA via a search engine not long after these forums were created (the MSN group had existed for a while, but wasn't high on the list).

This is going to be a REALLY stupid question, but I suppose I shall ask anyways, how many posts do I need to have made for my sig to finally show up on all of my posts?

NOW it shows up. :P

and now it's gone. What's up with that?

Your signature will display only in the first post of every page of a thread. This is a forum-wide policy to make things easier to read (note how my signature is on post #38 of this thread but not #44 or this one). Meanwhile, I've deleted your excess posts.

Why do some new(er) members not show up in the members list?

In order to keep the list relatively clean, members with post counts of less than 25 do not appear in the formal list.

That may be a candidate for an OP question, actually. Mithrandir, can you confirm that the value is 25?

25 is also the magic number to be able to go into chat.. right?

No, it's not. Not yet, at least. I think that's one of the things we were considering, and it's not a bad idea (that way, members can get to know the forums a little before spending all of their time in the chat, not to mention it keeps trolls out of the chat). But it hasn't been put to use yet, no. XD

How often should I change my password?

Unless someone discovers your password or you forget what it is, I don't think you ever need to.

25 is correct. As for changing your password, that's up to you. Good security practices for passwords include:
* Don't ever use a word as a password - it's to easy to crack. A good password should be 8+ characters and include letters, numbers, and a non-alphanumeric symbol (think: #$%^).
* Change passwords every 6 moths or so.
* Don't use the same password for an online bank site that you use for other sites (and if you ARE doing this, for the love of Pete, DON'T talk about it here).

Etc. I'm guessing you guys really don't want an online security discourse from me, but that's something to think about.

Sorry this one slipped through the cracks! Can you be a little more specific? You mean an avatar kind of thumbnail, or something else? (Or have you figured it out on your own in the last two weeks?)
