Attention all insomniacs!

I just wan't to know how many of us suffer from insomnia and what you do while time slips away through the night.
I admit it. That's right, I have... insomnia! :o
As for me, I listen to music on my headphones, watch a couple infomercials, see what I haven't explored in my computer. I also wire electronics together to see if they work together and fix things with the occasion roaming of the house. I forgot that to mention that I read a few books around these hours too.

Aw, poor andyroo....I understand. LOL

I'm not being an insomniac, I was just about to go to bed. Although to answer, I usually don't do very much...maybe pet the cats in a nice quiet manner and work on story plots.

i don't have insomnia, since i can sleep if i want to, but usually i don't anyways.

once, i was doing electronics too, and accidentally blew a medium sized capacitor. around 500mF? good thing i wasn't the 5F capacitor i usually use. if it was... bad things happen.

anyway, it was big enough to create a pretty loud bang, and also created this temporary atmosphere of dielectric smelliness.

my parents told me to keep it quiet. so i did.

anyways, i usually have too much work online for both myself and school, i don't sleep much. and if i'm playing games during holidays, i always skip a night of sleep every second day.

i once lasted 72 hours on my computer. i was half dead of course, so i had to go to sleep. i swear i will always sleep every second day, even during holidays.

Man, I'm not sure how you do that, Lorentz. I did that little nights-without-sleeping-at-all bit and I was nearly worthless the next days. And skipping every second day? I WISH I could do that, but for me....gotta get my seven hours or I'm not much fun to be around...:)

*BOOOOOOOOOM!* There went another capacitor....:dizzy:

i was modifying my 9V battery powered intercom into a main powered intercom, via a transformer adapter. the failure occured when i miscalculated that the caps will keep charging over the limit if the current is almost infinitely supplied. batteries it didn't matter, since they are low current, but main power... they just force the juice in.

that's probably why it blew up.

but i have to sleep since my parents force me to. i don't know why. i'm a night owl anyway.

Poor you :( Unfortunately I'm an insomniac as well and I do pretty much the same as you, look around the internet and listen to some anime tunes as well! I really feel like I should be doing something productive, like my homework or whatever, but usually when I have insomnia it's because my mind is running wild (probably because I worry too much!!) What helps sometimes is a little prayer to ask Him to take my worries and anxieties. And ask for a restful sleep!!

i can ring in with that thought. its not that i can't sleep from a condition its that my mind is way to active. if i know i need the sleep for work or school i try to sleep... lying in bed for a couple of hours will get it. if i don't have to sleep its anime, games or online. oh and the very exciting oddity of endless paceing for hours. it can be fun to think and pace. hehe.

The 48/72 hour thing isn't good. I usually get mild hallucinations if I stay awake for that long -- my head goes really light and I feel really strange. Trying to stay awake in lessons after that long is really difficult too. :shady:

haha Saint - doesn't the anime make you feel more awake? So does surfing on the internet for me. I'm currently looking for something that will bore me so much that my brain will be too tired to think. Maybe I should take out those old history class notes?? ^_^

Well it's not like I am staying up the entire night and sleeping the entire day, but it get's close to that... maybe. The time I usually get to sleep is around 3am to almost 4am. Or alot earlier. Thinking too much late at night contributes to it all, but for me it's the summer norm. A early night schedule usually develops within the first week of school.

you know watching a nice anime episode or two is just a great ending to the day, haha. you know what i have done a few times is try and meditate. hehe, not that i really like that, but i have studied it some with the martial arts i like. it can help but takes focus. count from 100 down and keep your mind empty. i think its pretty hard but i guess with practice...
