Violence / Gore: There are several scenes especially where the main characters have to kill these alien looking creatures. Those scenes are especially violent and a little gory. There is fighting between humans as well. While one dying character literally falls from a cliff (I don't believe it to be suicide), he becomes a light visible from a distance and nothing more of him is seen.

Nudity / Sexual Content: There really isn't much in this department - maybe one bath scene where nothing is really shown.

Potentially problematic theological themes: Plot revolves around another world. Characters try/wish to to return loved ones from the dead.

Other potentially problematic themes: There might be a little bit of swearing.

FINAL VERDICT: This is not a Ghibli film, but it may seem like one to those who don't know the person that directed it. The colors are vibrant, the "romance" - if you can call it that - is sweet, and the characters are nice. It doesn't take the plot too fast, but may seem to drag once in a while. Overall, this was a satisfying film with a fantasy twist and a good lesson.
